Privacy & account connections

ConnectGen Privacy Policy

How ConnectGen handles website visits, inquiries, production material, YouTube connections and authorized website-performance reporting.

Effective date: October 22, 2026.

1. Who operates ConnectGen

ConnectGen is operated by Michael Fair in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. It produces videos for churches, ministries and other organizations from material supplied for a project. For privacy questions, complaints or deletion requests, email contact@connectgen.ca.

This policy covers the ConnectGen website, inquiries and project workflow, the ConnectGen YouTube application, and the Hermes ConnectGen Analytics application used by the operator to monitor website performance. These are separate Google connections covered by the same policy. Jarvis’s unrelated personal, church and YokeWise account connections are not granted by authorizing either ConnectGen application.

2. Information received for a project

ConnectGen receives contact details, organization names, project briefs, sermon notes, transcripts, correspondence, approval decisions and supplied media. Project work can also create scripts, songs, voice recordings, storyboards, generated images and clips, finished videos, release metadata and billing records.

This information is used to respond to requests, plan and produce the requested work, obtain approvals, deliver files and preview links, and maintain operational and business records. Do not submit passwords, access tokens or unnecessary sensitive personal information. Please obtain the necessary rights and permissions before supplying material about other people.

3. Google and YouTube access

ConnectGen uses YouTube API Services. An authorized operator connects a Google account and chooses the YouTube channel used for uploads. The YouTube connection requests permission to upload videos and manage authorized YouTube content. The separate website-reporting connection requests read-only Google Analytics access, as explained below. Neither of these connections requests Gmail, Calendar, Drive, Docs, Sheets or Contacts access; receiving an email or supplied document for a project is different from obtaining API access to that account.

Depending on the granted permissions, ConnectGen can read channel and playlist information, upload a rendered video, submit its title, description, tags and privacy setting, set a thumbnail, and create or add videos to a project/client preview playlist. YouTube’s management permission is broader than these ordinary workflow actions and can permit editing or deleting authorized content; this is not a read-only connection.

ConnectGen stores OAuth authorization credentials and upload records, including video and playlist identifiers, URLs, submitted metadata, privacy settings and upload timestamps. It uses those records to provide review links and avoid duplicate uploads. Google-account passwords are not required by ConnectGen.

4. Authorized Google Analytics reporting

The Hermes ConnectGen Analytics application uses Google Analytics APIs with the analytics.readonly permission. It is separate from the visitor-tracking tag on the website and from YouTube upload authorization. Connecting the reporting application allows the operator to retrieve reports from Analytics accounts and properties the authorizing account is permitted to access. The permission is not inherently limited to one property; ConnectGen reporting should be restricted to properties relevant to the authorized task.

Depending on property configuration and the report requested, accessible information can include account/property names and identifiers, website/data-stream details, users and sessions, page views and landing pages, acquisition sources and campaigns, events, key-event counts, engagement measures, device/browser categories and approximate geographic breakdowns. Report availability depends on Google’s thresholds, configuration and processing delays; this is not a claim that every available field is collected or used.

These reports are used to understand website reach, content performance and inquiry/conversion activity, diagnose measurement problems, and prepare requested monitoring summaries and recommendations. Read-only authorization does not permit changing Analytics settings, editing tracking code, managing users or deleting property data. A visitor submitting the contact form does not grant this reporting permission; an authorized Google-account holder grants it separately.

Report results and derived summaries may be saved as local exports, dashboard data, conversation records or project notes accessible to the operator and authorized collaborators. Relevant extracts may be processed by configured AI/reporting services when needed for an authorized analysis, subject to the Google-data restrictions below. Reports are not automatically published, sold or approved for disclosure to other clients. Credentials are kept out of public reports and website files.

5. Preview videos and publication

ConnectGen’s own preview channel uses unlisted videos. An unlisted link is not private access control: anyone who receives it may view and share it, and links may appear in review emails and project records.

Changing the Google app’s publishing status to Production does not change any video’s visibility. Publishing a client film as a website sample requires separate permission; embedding an unlisted video on a public website makes it available to visitors even though YouTube still labels it unlisted.

6. Service providers and AI processing

Project material may be processed using locally hosted tools and external providers for language-model assistance, voice, music, image/video generation, email delivery, hosting and video distribution. Information sent to a provider depends on the production task; a service may process data outside Canada under its own terms and privacy practices.

The website is hosted on Vercel. Project correspondence is handled through ConnectGen’s mail infrastructure and Brevo, with an operator copy forwarded to Gmail. Uploaded videos, metadata and playback are processed by Google/YouTube; authorized website reports are retrieved from Google Analytics. Hermes Agent may assist the operator with production and reporting, but is not a separate authorization to access a client’s other accounts. Project information is accessible to the operator and authorized collaborators or service providers where needed to carry out the work.

Client-supplied production material and information obtained through Google APIs are different data sources. Permission to produce a video does not authorize unrelated reuse of private Google-account data. Google API data must not be sold, used for advertising or supplied to train generalized AI models. Provider terms and data controls must support applicable restrictions before such data is sent to a provider.

7. Website analytics and third-party content

The website uses Google Analytics 4 for visits and interaction events such as request submissions, call-to-action clicks and sample-video selections. Analytics may collect device/browser information, page URLs, approximate location and cookie or similar identifiers. The site’s custom analytics events are designed not to include names, email addresses or message bodies; testimonial-page URLs are trimmed to remove their query strings before analytics reporting. Avoid placing personal information in other page URLs.

Google Analytics, Google-hosted fonts and embedded YouTube content can make requests to Google services. Embedded videos may display advertising or other YouTube-provided content, and Google/YouTube may collect information under their policies. Hosting and mail services may also keep operational or security logs. This privacy-policy page does not load the site’s analytics script or embed videos.

See Google’s Privacy Policy and the Google Analytics browser opt-out. Browser settings can limit cookies, although some third-party functionality may be affected.

8. Storage, retention and security

Production files and upload records are stored in the operator’s project storage. YouTube and Analytics OAuth credentials are stored separately from the public website in the relevant production or assistant account’s credential storage. Analytics reports, exports and summaries may be retained in operational storage or project notes, in addition to Google’s retention within the Analytics property. Project copies, correspondence, logs and backups may exist in additional operational systems.

Information is retained for project work, support and legitimate business or legal recordkeeping, subject to applicable Google/YouTube restrictions. A project archive or backup is not a reason to retain Google API data beyond a permitted period. Security depends on access controls, credential handling and service-provider protections; no system can guarantee absolute security.

9. Revoke access or request deletion

You can review and separately revoke the ConnectGen and Hermes ConnectGen Analytics applications’ access through Google account permissions. Revocation prevents future authorized API access for the revoked grant, but does not by itself delete uploaded YouTube videos, Analytics-property data, saved report exports, project files, emails or previously stored records. Removing one application does not automatically revoke the other. Browser cookie controls, reporting-app revocation and deletion of previously collected Analytics data are different actions.

For deletion, email contact@connectgen.ca with the relevant account/channel or Analytics property, project and information you want removed. Do not send credentials. The operator may verify your authority, identify the relevant copies, remove applicable records, and explain any legally required retention. Deleting an uploaded video is a separate action from disconnecting the app and should be requested explicitly. Requests about Analytics-property data may need to be handled by the property administrator using Google’s available controls; deleting an exported report does not delete the underlying property data. External services and backups may require separate deletion handling, subject to applicable API deadlines.

10. Google and YouTube policies

ConnectGen’s use of information received from Google APIs is subject to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including applicable Limited Use requirements, and the YouTube API Services Developer Policies.

By using ConnectGen’s YouTube-connected features, users agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service. Google and YouTube handle information under the Google Privacy Policy. These requirements also apply to authorized Analytics reports and derived information where applicable. This page does not claim that Google has verified or endorsed either ConnectGen application.

11. Changes and contact

Material changes to access, processing or sharing will be reflected in this policy, and additional consent obtained where required, before the changed processing begins. Questions or complaints can be sent to Michael Fair at contact@connectgen.ca.
